King Fung specializes in psychoanalytic psychotherapy for adolescents and adults. In essence, this psychotherapy helps individuals change and grow from within because inner change is long-lasting and stable. It helps them find relief from mental or emotional stress, identify the hidden roots in past to the present psychological pain, promote self-reflection and self-examination, develop a better understanding of present challenges, develop more effective and constructive coping techniques, and facilitate life transformation and personality growth.
King Fung has years of clinical experience in working with individuals with various mental and psychological struggles, such as personality disorders/character issues, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, phobia, insomnia, grief and loss issues, early trauma, sexual problems, couple relationship problems, low self-esteem and self-worth, and other developmental issues. He believes that by gaining insight into how our past experiences and feelings are still alive in the here-and-now moment and unconsciously influencing who we are now, individuals will be able to understand why they keep falling into the same struggles and hardships. Through counselling and psychotherapy, they can make their conscious and thoughtful choices, develop a more complete personality, and actualize their authentic selves.
